DCP Packing Vlog!

It's only a week before I leave for my Disney College Program, so I need to start packing!

Packing your life into two suitcases and one carry-on can be difficult, but I've heard that you don't actually need everything. Here's a good idea on what we're going to be bringing, and if you're doing the program and flying, what you should pack!

If you're going with someone else (like how I'm going with my friend), you can coordinate who brings what so you don't pack doubles or any unnecessary items. For instance, she's going to bring a hairdryer and not me, because we really won't need two hairdryers in our bathroom. Also, make sure you coordinate with your roommates (if you have them picked already) about what to bring for the apartment in general! My roommates and I have talked about who's bringing a TV, wireless router, iron, etc. You can always have things shipped to you from home, or buy them once you get there!

Good luck packing!

Oh, and have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Disney Challenge Day 43: Favorite Disney Channel Show

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Forty-Three: Favorite Disney Channel Show

Oh gosh Disney Channel used to be the only station I watched when I was younger...it's really sad that the shows on that channel has slowly gone downhill, only focusing on the singing and fashion and making their actors pop stars instead of shows that are relatable and send a good message to their young audience.

That being said, this is a really hard question! There were so many good shows, like Lizzie McGuire and Even Stevens. However, I think my favorites were That's So Raven and Wizards of Waverly Place. Which makes sense because I like stories and movies that have to do with magic of some sort (or for That's So Raven, psychics). I'd watch Hannah Montana but I'm really not a big fan of Miley Cyrus at all, and I never have been. I had a huge crush on Cole Sprouse when Suite Life of Zack and Cody was airing, so I'd watch that show all the time too. But Raven and Wizards were probably the two shows I'd really watch consistently and look for the new episodes.

Disney Challenge Day 42: Favorite Disney Broadway

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Forty-Two: Favorite Disney Broadway

I've actually never seen a Disney broadway show before! Which really makes me sad. But I have to say I'd probably like The Lion King on Broadway...just from the fact that it's my favorite movie, I adore the music, and I really like the costumes and outfits they use for the show (which is similar to the parade costumes they've used). I really hope to see this show on Broadway sometime in my life! I feel like it'd be an amazing experience.

Disney Challenge Day 41: Favorite Musical Movie

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Forty-One: Your favorite musical movie

Does Tangled count as a musical? Well, it does now! They have characters that randomly burst into song (like the good ol' Disney days) so I think that qualifies it as a musical to at least some extent. I just really love how upbeat and fun this movie is, it really reminds me of the old princess movies (except with CGI graphics). The songs are fun and catchy, and the story is touching. I also love Pascal and Maximus, they're great. Not to mention Flynn Ryder is kind of perfect.

Only nine more days until I leave for the DCP! Yikes! I should probably start packing soon....

Speaking of packing, I'll be filming a packing video blog today! Stay tuned!

Disney Challenge Day 40: I Want to Live in This Movie...

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Forty: A Movie I Want to Live In

I don't even need to think twice about this one! I'd LOVE to live in The Incredibles. To be able to have superpowers like that would be so much fun! I feel like Violet and I could be best friends, and her parents are awesome. Jack-Jack is absolutely adorable. I've just always been obsessed with the movie and I would just love to even spend a day in their shoes, if that ever was possible.

My family and I recently took a little road trip to visit most of my family over the weekend before Christmas, and on the way home I decided to (finally) make my packing list for the DCP!

Disney Challenge Day 39: An Ugly Character

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Thirty-Nine: An Ugly Character

Ursula deserves this title for haunting my childhood nightmares when I was a little kid...I still remember one of those dreams! I was on a boat kind of like the ones for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Disneyland, and I was floating in an ocean towards this giant cave. The cave was kind of like a ride at Disney, but with her head on the top part, laughing maniacally like she does when she turns into a giant sea witch in The Little Mermaid. It's just me, slowly floating towards her while she towers over me with that laugh...

Thankfully, I've grown out of it! But she's definitely the reason why I didn't watch that movie very much when I was younger. Probably the reason why we don't even own it on video!

Disney Challenge Day 38: Princess With the Best Hair

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Thirty-Eight: Disney Princess With the Best Hair

I've always been jealous of Pocahontas's long and beautiful dark hair. No matter what weather conditions it goes through, it just stays perfectly! Granted...she is animated and it's obviously not possible in real life..but whenever it's windy and my hair goes all over the place it reminds me how impossible it is for me to have perfect hair like hers, or like any of the Disney princesses really.

Don't worry, I love my hair too! ;)

Also, Merry Christmas everyone! <3

'Twas the Night Before Christmas...

I hope everyone has a magical and safe Christmas! This weekend I was able to visit a lot of my relatives on both sides of my family, which was really nice since I'm going to be leaving in exactly two weeks! It's always nice to reconnect with everyone, even if it's only for a short period of time. I'm glad I got to see everyone before this huge adventure waiting for me in Florida! I was even able to make my packing list during the drive home, which is making the DCP even more real! I still can't believe it's arriving so soon!

I'll be posting about packing and other pre-DCP information soon, but until then, Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

Disney Challenge Day 36: Beautiful Movie Scene

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Thirty-Six: A Beautiful Scene from a Disney Movie

I couldn't find the exact scene or pictures of the beautiful scenery, but the landscape and animation in Brave was absolutely breathtaking. Though I'm not a huge fan of the movie, the latest Pixar movie definitely outdid itself in regards to its animation. I'd say this has the most beautiful and realistic scenery in any Disney movie, which is a big step in animation in general.

Disney Challenge Day 35: Most Memorable Ride

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Thirty-Five: The Ride With the Most Memories

This was a tough one, but I've got to say Tower of Terror. This ride is one of the very few that can still make me genuinely terrified. But it's not only about the fear, this ride is just so much fun. It's a full on experience with walking through the petrified hotel, watching the video in the library, and waiting in line in the boiler room preparing yourself for the epic ride ahead. Whenever I ride this ride I never know what to do with my hands, so I end up flailing around a bit and stomping my feet! Nevertheless it's definitely one of my favorites!

I remember one time when I was in middle school my family and I were waiting in line for Tower of Terror in California Adventure. I was wearing a camouflage shirt and there were two actors pretending to be hotel guests. One of the actors turned to me and said, "Oh! We have a soldier in our presence!" They saluted me and I shyly laughed. It's those little special Disney moments you remember forever.

Disney Challenge Day 34: Picture of Me at Disney

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Thirty-Four: Picture of Me at Disney

This is definitely my most favorite picture I've ever taken at Disneyland! It was my best friend Holly's first time ever on Splash Mountain, and of course I've been on it numerous times. Let's just say mine was posed...and Holly's....not so much.

Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Returns! (Part One)

Alfred Angelo has recently released its latest collection of wedding dresses for their Disney Fairy Tale Wedding series! Since I shared with you all the other dresses, it's about time to share with you the latest collection for the series!

Optional Spaghetti Straps & Modesty Piece
Chapel Train

My Opinion: I think this dress captures Cinderella's beauty and elegance perfectly in a really simple way.

Ariel

Style: 223

Sizes: 0 to 26W

My Opinion: This is a kind of classy and different take on an Ariel wedding dress compared to the past versions. Not sure if I really like the belt/sash all that much, but maybe I would if I saw it in a different color?

Sleeping Beauty

My Opinion: I'm not quite sure the connection between this dress design and Aurora's gown, but I think it's pretty. Not really my personal favorite, but it's still beautiful.

Snow White

Style: 220

Description: "Timeless, tulle ball gown accented at the waist with a fairy tale corsage of delicately beaded apple blossoms. This gown is as enchanting as a magical forest!"

What do you think of the new dresses?

You can see the rest of Alfred Angelo's styles and gorgeous gowns here!

I hope everyone has a magical holiday season!

Disney Challenge Day 33: Disneyland or Disney World?

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Thirty-Three: Disneyland or Disney World?

Wow. Could you ask a harder question? Is that even possible? I find the two to be pretty different, especially since Disney World has more parks than Disneyland! However, I do have to say Disneyland over Disney World right now, since I've only been to Disney World once in my life. As I said in the previous post about my favorite park, Disneyland holds so many memories that can never be forgotten or replaced! I am really excited to make new memories in Disney World during the DCP though, which is arriving in only 20 days!!!

Disney Challenge Day 32: Scariest Ride

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Thirty-Two: Scariest Ride

I don't think I've ever been more terrified on a ride when I rode Dinosaur. Ohhh my gosh. When I was younger I used to be scared of any kind of animatronics, or even costumed characters. I've grown out of those fears for the most part, but Dinosaur is still the most terrifying ride I've ever been on. The first time I rode it I closed my eyes and covered my ears pretty much the entire time. My family thought it was fun and decided to ride it a second time right after we first went (...joy). This time, I kept my eyes open (for the most part) the entire time, but still covered my ears. Needless to say, those pictures they took on the ride definitely captured the most genuine looks of terror I've ever made on a ride at a theme park.

Just to give an example on how terrifying this ride is (in case you haven't been on it before), here's the full video of the ride in the front seat! (I watched this video before I went on the ride...and I was still scared out of my wits.)

Disney Challenge Day 31: Least Favorite Character

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Thirty-One: Least Favorite Character

I've never really been a fan of Donald Duck...I've always kind of thought his voice was a little annoying and he was really selfish and always jealous about Mickey's spotlight...However, the Three Caballeros ride in the Mexico portion of Epcot was cute and fun!

Disney Bucket List Vlog!

Since we finally finished school (which means we're done with community college forever!!), my friend Sara and I found time to make a new video blog!

Another DCP video blog pair, "Mitch and Trey's Disney Days," made a Disney bucket list vlog a few weeks ago and asked everyone else who does vlogs for the DCP to join them and make a response with their own Disney bucket lists! So, that's exactly what we did!

These are just some of the many things we want to do in Florida during the DCP, and if you have any ideas, feel free to share your input! We want to make most of the months we'll be sharing this journey together in the most magical place on Earth!

For the rest of our Disney video blogs, check out our Youtube channel!

I hope everyone has a magical weekend!

Disney Challenge Day 30: Favorite Theme Park Attraction/Ride

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Thirty: Favorite Theme Park Attraction/Ride

Rockin' Roller Coaster is my all time favorite ride, not just including Disney parks. I love the concept and how it speeds from zero to sixty miles per hour in 2.8 seconds. Waiting in line for this ride actually sparked my interest in Aerosmith's music, which I'm sure was the original intent of the ride. Their music is so fun to listen to during those long waiting times, it definitely makes the process more fun! The ride is so fast and so fun, I'm so excited to get to ride it again when the Disney College Program starts! I've already decided with my friend and roommate that Hollywood Studios and this ride are going to be the first stops as soon as we get our free passes into the parks.

Disney Challenge Day 29: Favorite Theme Park

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Twenty-Nine: Your Favorite Theme Park

Disneyland was my first Disney park. I consider it to be my "home park", especially since I've only visited Disney World once in my life (which soon will change!). I have so many memories from Disneyland with my family and friends that I will cherish for the rest of my life. From scaring my little brother on Tom Sawyer's Island when we were small, to being with my best friend as she experiences Disney for the first time on our graduation trip. Space Mountain and Indiana Jones are my favorite rides in Disneyland, and it saddens me that Indy doesn't have a ride in Walt Disney World.

After the WDW Disney College Program ends, I hope to probably transfer to a four year university in Southern California, right next to Disneyland! (Convenient, right?) Since the park is so close to my potential future college, I'm hoping to possibly work in Disneyland as a regular cast member if everything goes as planned! Fingers crossed!

Disney Challenge Day 28: Favorite Quote

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Twenty-Eight: Favorite Quote

When I first saw the movie Meet the Robinsons, I thought it was cute and didn't think too much of it. However, once the final scene with this quote popped up, my eyes welled up because I realized that a lot of the movie was based off of Walt's very own words. It's not even just the fact that it was a quote from Walt, but the real message behind it.

Disney is known for breaking boundaries and creating new and unexpected projects and creations, and this quote shows exactly how they do it. It's something I sometimes have to refer to when I'm having a bad day or I'm kind of in a slump with what I'm doing with my life. This quote teaches me to not dwell in the past. Don't look back and wish you could have changed things or done things differently, because there's nothing you can do about the past. However, you can change yourself right now to take control of your future. You can't mope about how things are different now and wish they were how they used to be, because you have an entire future just waiting for you to explore and conquer as your very own.

In other news, one more final to go and my community college days are done!! I'm pretty excited, because the next chapter in my life involves living in Florida and working in Disney World! Ahhh!

Disney Challenge Day 27: Saddest Death

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Twenty-Seven: Saddest Death

I'm sure all of you saw this coming...Mufasa's death in The Lion King is by far the saddest moment I've ever seen in any Disney film. It was probably one of the first scenes in an animated movie to make me tear up when I was little (the one that first made me cry was Pokemon..but that's another story).

Mufasa's death was just so tragic, and the fact that Simba believed it was his fault (thanks to Scar) makes it even more devastating. Imagine being a young child, watching your father die, and then being convinced that it was all your fault? I would've run away too. That's a lot to handle.

Another really sad death that I distinctly remember being sad about when I was little was when Bambi's mom was killed....gah. Why, Disney? Why do you do this to us?

In other news, I finished my two hardest finals today!!! Only one more final on Thursday and I'm done with community college!!! Only four weeks until the DCP!!

Disney Challenge Day 26: Favorite Movie Scene

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Twenty-Six: Favorite Scene from Favorite Movie

I don't know what it is about this scene, but I just love it. It's so beautiful, and the music is so pretty and wonderful. It might because I think Nala is awesome and both she and Simba work so well together. Maybe it's because they're childhood friends being reunited and falling in love. Either way, it's definitely my favorite scene from my all time favorite Disney movie!

Disney Challenge Day 25: A Movie That Makes You Cry

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Twenty-Five: A Movie That Makes You Cry

Honestly, if you didn't at least get a little teary-eyed during the beginning of Up, you have no soul.

I'm kidding, of course. I didn't completely cry when I first saw the movie, but I definitely was on the verge! The whole beginning with the story between Carl and Ellie was just so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. Probably the best storytelling Disney has ever done, and it was only a few minutes long.

Disney Challenge Day 24: Movie That Makes You Laugh

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Twenty-Four: A Movie That Makes You Laugh

The Emperor's New Groove never fails to make me laugh! The storyline is pretty much ridiculous (selfish emperor...turns into llama..) and the characters are so funny on their own, who can't help but laugh when they watch this movie? I have to say, Kronk makes this movie complete. He's definitely one of my all time favorite Disney characters.

Disney Challenge Day 23: An Underrated Movie

50 Day Disney Challenge
Day Twenty-Three: An Underrated Movie

I've always thought Enchanted deserved more recognition than it gets! I don't think I've ever really seen a reference to the movie at any of the parks or Disney stores, and it makes me sad. I thought it was such a cute and clever movie. I found it hilarious the Disney was actually kind of mocking itself in regards to the cheesy quality some fairy tale movies can portray. I love the music numbers in this film too! I know there are some complications with having any face characters from this movie in the parks because of the real life actors, but Disney has Mary Poppins in the park, and she was played by a real life actress! I'd love to meet Giselle. I feel like she'd be so cute to see!
